Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.

Today I thought Lovie and I would drive out and about along highway 101 and see some of the vineyards along the highway. This picture to the right is of Saracina Ranch (Winery). From what I have read on the web, I think that this vineyard is part of Fetzer. It is located just outside of Hopland, California as you are heading North up highway 101. Located on the left side of the highway.

This second picture is also Saracina. This view is just a little bit further up the highway. You can't really see it in the picture here, but on the left side of the photo you can see a great big cellar door that they built into the side of the hill. I can still remember when they built it, just a couple of years ago. The cellar door and the hill looked so naked.

All the times that I have been driving up here, I never really paid any attention to how the vines turn during the fall. The rows of vines climbing up and over the hillsides. It is actually quite a sight. And it still amazes me how once I get up here I can smell the vines.

I'm not sure what the name of this last vineyard pictured here is. It's located down at the end of South State Street in Ukiah. It may be a private one. All I do know is that it make a good picture too. You can't really see it here in the picture, unless you enlarge it to its actual size, but you can see the vines reaching up the hill there in the back. Hopefully by the same time next year I will have a better camera and be able to take much better pictures.
