If all the cars in the United States were placed end to end, it would probably be Labor Day Weekend.

Labor Day, the ‘official’ sign that summer is over. Especially for the kids, it’s a sign that summer vacation is over and time to start school again (for those who didn’t have to go back the last week in August!). It’s the weekend where families take off for that last weekend of camping, or to the beach, or stay home and throw a family & friends BBQ in the back yard.

So what do I have planned for Labor Day weekend? Tonight I will be driving up North to Ukiah to spend the weekend with my Wenchy (my best friend who is like a sister to me and my partner in crime) and her two kids (my nephew and niece). There isn’t a whole helluva lot to do in Ukiah, but Lake Mendocino, the Russian River, and Clear Lake are all near by. I’m not going to be leaving until probably around 7 or 8 o’clock tonight. That should put me up there around 11 o’clock at the latest. I’m hoping that the traffic won’t be so bad. Leaving later in the evening makes going through Oakland, Berkeley, Ran Rafael, Petaluma, and Santa Rosa so much smoother.

I have to get gas before I leave and I’m dreading having to fill up my tank. Prices keep going up. By the time this weekend is over it’s going to cost me close to 60 bucks on gas alone. Aye!

On that note, I think I will get back to work now. So many things that I still need to do and not enough time to get them all done. Just when I seem to get close to being caught up, I see that I’m still behind. Story of my life!
