Video Killed The Radio Star Challenge

Feather your hair, turn up your collar, splash on some Polo, and head back to the time when Reagan was King. Get ready, because we are going to go on a Journey back into the decadence that was the 80's! Back when hair bands ruled the rock radio air waves, when Mtv still played music videos and it was all about the Headbangers Ball, and when Michael Jackson was still black.

While I was hard at working doing nothing today, I came up with an idea. I wondered if I could come up with a poem of sorts that was mainly made up of songs from the 80's. Of course this made me raid my CD collection when I got home. Seeing as I was a teenage product of the 80's, I've got quite A LOT of bands from the 80's within my big collection.

Now dear readers, this is where you come in. I've decided I wanted to make this a post you can participate in. So what is going to be your job? You are going to name the bands who sing all of the songs that are within this little ode to the 80's. BUT! I want you to do this without any help from the internet. I want to see just how much of the 80's music you have retained in your brain. Post your answers in the comment section of this post. Don't cheat. That just takes all the fun out of it! All the songs are italics. The answers will follow next Friday.

All of you who were "Rockers", get out your leather, spandex, animal prints, and hair spray! It's time to tease your hair back up into 80's...

Piece of Me

It started with a kiss.
Your lips like sugar, it feels so good.
You make me lose control; I’m hungry like the wolf,
I need your human touch.
Baby, I’m ready. Hit the lights! Let’s go all the way, slide it in!

I just died in your arms tonight.
I never though I'd meet someone like you, you’re my new obsession.
I fell head over heels for your love.
Addicted to that rush; I feel a million miles away.
When I'm with you, you turn me upside down.

Then I heard a rumor, how you bragged about how you got lucky.
Some centerfold with looks that kill.
Tempted into what you thought would be a one night love affair,
You committed the ultimate sin.

Now you say you’re in love with her, you don’t want me anymore.
I'm stripped, left with no more words of love for you.
There was a time I’d die for you, now I don’t want your tainted love.

Left with shattered dreams, oh how love bites!
I’ve been taught lessons in love.
Love is a battlefield and every rose has its thorns.

I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t be missing you.
But do or die, I’m gonna harden my heart.
With or without you, it’s my life.
So goodbye to you!

GoofieGracie,

You need to list what song goes with what artist. I can tell you right now that Foreigner is NOT one of them.

And the guy from Celebrity Fit Club is Janie Lane from Warrant, and nope, none of the songs is from them either.

Sorry. :o)
