I normally pass on this concert since there are usually only 1 or 2 bands that I might like to see, but not willing to shell out the money to see at this little fest. This year I am making an exception. There are only 2 bands that I want see, as usual.
So what makes this year special? Have you looked at the poster?! HIM is going to be playing on the main fucking stage this year! Now I won't have to go to Vegas to see them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. I hate big venues and was just bitching about it yesterday that I'd like to see them at The House of Blues since it is a smaller venue. But realistically I can't afford to fly off to Vegas, plus pay for a hotel room, plus the ticket to the show. This is right in my own backyard and what I can afford. Well, not really, but who the fuck cares! I get to see fucking HIM again! (I told you I was obsessed with this band! But if I was really obsessed, let me tell you, I'd find some fucking way to meet Ville and molest his ass! It's a sickness, I tell ya!)
So who is the other band I'd like to see you ask? Well it sure in the hell isn't AFI and it sure the fuck isn't Franz Ferdinand. Not that I have anything against them per say, I just don't like their music. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs aren't too bad, but they aren't the other band either.
Echo & the fucking Bunnymen, that's who! Hell the fuck yeah!
HIM and Echo are the only two bands that I am going to this 'sea of too many fucking people for me!' fest for. Although I am really surprised to see that HIM is in this line up, but I can see why they were included. Live 105 is the only radio station here in the Bay Area (that I know of anyway) that plays HIM. Since their US release of the Dark Light album (their first album ever to be 'officially' released on a major US label) Live 105 has been playing the fuck out of Wings of a Butterfly. So okay, I guess I'll give them that. If I was the radio station, I'd want them to play in my little concert series too.
Tickets go on sale this Sunday at 10am. You know my ass is going to be signed onto Ticket Master at like 9:30 with my finger just itching to click on that buy tickets link. Hell yeah, only because I'm actually going to be getting reserved seating for this bastard. I want to try and get the best fucking seats available. I know I can kiss the first few rows for front and center goodbye. I hate that those tickets are already gone to the radio station and the damn fucking ticket brokers who sell them for an arm and a leg. I think that is a bunch of bullshit, but what can you do. Not a whole helluva fucking lot that's what! Bastards! At least I have a good chance of hopefully snagging some good seats.
